IN THE BEGINNING 2005 11 " x 15 " letterpress print $250 unframed $425 framed	ARTIST STATEMENT Years ago my reason to create was to end up with a finished piece. Now the creative process is the nectar that draws me to the studio each day. For me, the sweetness of creating comes from the adventure of not knowing where I'm going with a piece. Regardless of the discipline -- I am a writer, painter and book artist -- the creative process comes alive when I trust wherever it leads me by the hand. In this series of prints, I am celebrating the creative process over the polished result. Three of the prints use text I have written but not yet resolved. Unlike a traditional broadside, which features a finished poem or prose excerpt, these prints honor the struggle of finding the truest words to express a thought or feeling.
